GSPro V3.1.6.12 PC Performance Test Results

Published on January 19, 2026

Article Overview

GSPro is a popular golf simulation software option which has touted itself as being compatible with a large number of launch monitors. In addition to this, it offers a very high number of courses with both official courses as well as courses designed and published for play from the community itself.

Introduction

The GSPro software is very well optimized, runs great on any hardware, and has a plethora of courses to choose from. Even a 5060 can almost achieve 60fps in 4k Ultra on GSPro.

The only problem with GSPro being so lightweight is that the hardware quickly outruns it. At 1080p, using a 5070ti or 5080 is difficult to justify, since the software caps out on a regular old 5070. That being said, most courses still scale at 4k settings, even on a 5080, so if you have a 4k display, a 5080 will give you the most consistent experience.

It should also be noted that while GSPro is not immune to the screen tearing issue that plagues most other simulators, it does include a VSync graphical setting, which eliminates the screen tearing problem.

Testing Methodology

Since this software was very quick to run tests on, we tested four quality presets in both 1080p and 4k, each on 5 different courses. The lowest we tested was Medium, as there is never really a reason to use the Low preset. Any case where Low may be required would benefit more from dropping down to 1440p or 1080p and using at least the High preset.

As stated in the introduction, the 5070ti and 5080 run into some kind of bind at 1080p in all cases, so after doing a few courses on the 5070ti, we stopped testing that resolution for those cards. Their performance in 1080p caps out right around the same spot as the 5070.

Other notes:

  • Tested by hitting shots with mouse and keyboard, not a launch monitor
  • Did a flyover at each hole before playing through
  • Tested on Kapalua Plantation Course, Georgia Golf Club, Whispering Pines, DPC Sodgrass, and Cabot Cliffs

Results and Conclusion:

Overall performance was great, and you can basically have a great experience no matter your hardware if you’re using GSPro. Not to mention that GSPro gives you more control over the various graphical settings than many other softwares, making it easy to tune the appearance and performance to your liking. And you can even play golf with your mouse and keyboard if you want by swiping the mouse up and down while holding right click.

Volume clouds and shadows have a large impact on performance, while 3D grass seems to have little impact. Frame times were consistent, making for a smooth visual experience, but there can often be a large difference in performance between courses, as is common with many other simulators. Older courses look older, and they run smoother, and the opposite is true for newer courses.

In conclusion, GSPro will run well on relatively low end hardware, even at 4k with high graphical settings. We recommend using a system with at least a 5070 if you’re going for 60fps, or a 5080 if your display can output 120fps.
