Ultimate Endgamers League
What are your basic testing methods?
Framerate testing involves taking an average of game play performance on a specific resolution over a 15 minute period of actual dedicated game play. This is done for each 1080P, 1440P, and 4K performance. For games that incorporate load screens, and massively different maps, we test at least a handful of different maps and locations to then average the game performance for one final performance number.
What Graphics Settings were used?
For the vast majority of games, we used the game's default settings where it analyzes the system hardware and sets the game settings for optimal performance. In the instance where the software did not perform this task, we manually set the graphics to "high" wherever possible.
Why are some games only 60FPS?
In most instances, this is a frame cap set by the game publisher. Most of these fall into the category of fighting games. Generally speaking, capping the frame rate at 60fps prevents any possible advantage one player may have against another when playing multiplayer on different computers. For other games, it is often that the game was designed for console first, and is set to maintain performance. This setting can sometimes be left this way when ported to PC. Rest assured, if the FPS is 60 across the board, the computer plays the game as well as it possibly can!
